Public Health now provides free cancer screenings

Did you know that 1 in 3 women will get cancer in their lifetime? 找到ing cancer early makes it easiest to treat and defeat. To help spot cancer early, breast and cervical cancer screenings are now available through Arapahoe County Public Health for those who qualify.

Who should get tested?

People with a cervix between the ages of 21–29 years old should get checked for cervical cancer with a Pap test (also called a Pap smear) every three years. Those aged 30–64 years old are screened with an HPV test and a Pap test every 5 years. These quick, routine tests are done in a doctor’s office or clinic.?

Routine screening mammograms for breast cancer are recommended every two years at ages 40–64 for women, transgender women who have medically transitioned, transgender men who have not had a bilateral mastectomy, and non-binary individuals. 

How can I get tested?

To schedule an appointment for a breast or cervical cancer screening, call Arapahoe County Public Health at 303-734-5444. If you do not have insurance or are concerned, you may qualify for free cancer screenings.
